Independent insurance agency

Cover that fits the life you actually live.

Meadow Dapple compares policies across a shortlist of carriers, then hands you the one that makes sense — in language you can repeat to someone else.

No obligation, no scripted call. Send what you have and we will tell you honestly whether a change is worth making.

Why people stay

Three things we hold to, every file, every renewal.

  • Independent by design

We are not tied to a single insurer, so the recommendation is shaped by your situation rather than by whose name is on the door.

  • Plain-language policies

Before anything is signed, you get a short written summary of what is covered, what is excluded and where the deductible sits.

  • One agent on your file

The person who writes your policy is the person who answers when a claim, a move or a new driver changes the picture.

Coverage

What we place for households and small operators.

Most clients arrive with one need and leave with a tidier set of policies. Here is the range we work in, and what each one usually has to answer for.

  • Home & property

For owners who want the rebuild figure to be real, not rounded.

    • Dwelling and contents limits
    • Water, wind and fire perils
    • Detached structures and sheds
  • Auto & motor

Daily drivers, second vehicles and the teenager you are dreading insuring.

    • Liability and collision options
    • New and young driver reviews
    • Seasonal and low-mileage use
  • Life & family

Term cover sized to the years your household still depends on an income.

    • Term length and amount guidance
    • Beneficiary and ownership setup
    • Reviews after a birth or move
  • Renters

Small premium, unglamorous, and the policy people most often skip.

    • Contents and replacement cost
    • Personal liability in a lease
    • Temporary relocation costs
  • Small business

Trades, studios, market stalls and one-van operations.

    • General liability and premises
    • Tools, stock and equipment
    • Commercial vehicle use
  • Umbrella liability

An extra layer above home and auto when the assets outgrow the limits.

    • Excess liability limits
    • Household member coverage
    • Rental and recreational exposure

How it works

Four steps, and you only do the first one.

  1. Step one

    Tell us what exists now

Current policies if you have them, or a short description of what needs covering. Declaration pages help; guesses are fine too.

  2. Step two

    We compare quietly

We shop the carriers we work with, check limits against what you told us, and flag gaps nobody mentioned at the last renewal.

  3. Step three

You see the options side by side

Two or three realistic choices with the trade-offs written out. If staying put is the better answer, we will say so.

  4. Step four

We handle the paperwork and the renewal

Binding, cancellations and documents are on us — then we revisit before the term ends rather than letting it roll silently.

Your agent

Rowan Dapple, licensed independent agent.

I spent my first years inside a large carrier's service centre, reading policies to people after something had already gone wrong. Meadow Dapple exists so that conversation happens earlier.

The agency stays small on purpose. I take on the number of households I can actually remember — which means when you write, you are not re-explaining your roof, your commute or your workshop from the beginning.

  • Licensed property, casualty and life lines
  • Independent appointments with a vetted carrier shortlist
  • Claims advocacy from first notice through settlement
  • Written annual review before every renewal date

Questions

The things most people ask first.

Can I switch insurers in the middle of a term?
Usually yes. Most policies can be cancelled mid-term with the unused premium returned, though the arithmetic only favours a move when the coverage or the price difference is meaningful. We check that before suggesting it.
Does the review and advice cost anything?
No. Reviewing your current policies and preparing comparisons is part of the service. If a policy is placed, the carrier pays the agency a commission — and we will tell you plainly when that is the case.
Is bundling home and auto always cheaper?
Often, not always. Bundles reward simple profiles; unusual properties, older vehicles or a past claim can make two separate policies the better buy. We price it both ways rather than assuming.
What happens if I need to make a claim?
You report it to the carrier and tell us at the same time. From there we track the file, chase the adjuster when it stalls, and translate any settlement language before you agree to it.
What should I send with my first message?
Whatever is within reach — a declaration page, a renewal notice, or just a sentence describing the house, the vehicles and who lives there. We will come back with the specific gaps we need filled.
Do you work with people who have had a claim or a lapse?
Yes. A claim history or a gap in coverage narrows the carrier list, it does not end the conversation. Tell us early so the quotes we show you are ones that will actually hold.
